MERRILL MAN ARRESTED FOR OWI FIRST OFFENSE FOLLOWING REPORT OF UNSAFE DRIVING

TOWN OF SOMO – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous complaint on Wednesday, August 6th regarding a vehicle swerving dangerously on USH 8 in the Town of Somo. The driver had reportedly pulled his vehicle to the side of the road near West Circle Dr. Deputies arriving on scene discovered the suspect vehicle still stopped at the described location, however a portion of the car was in the roadway and the driver was slumped over the wheel asleep.

Upon making contact with the 60-yr-old male driver from Merrill, the deputy observed signs of impairment. The man agreed to field sobriety tests, and as a result of those tests was placed under arrest for OWI first offense, as well as criminally operating after revocation. He was subsequently booked into the Lincoln County Jail.
